Ways To Begin Training on Wooden Stall Bars

Stall bars provide a unique opportunity to build strength and condition the body to maintain dynamic poses. The stall bars allow for more intensive and specialized exercises that an individual can’t achieve on their own with typical gym equipment. It’s ideal to know some ways to begin training on wooden stall bars to advance your physical strength and conditioning to get the most out of your workout sessions.

Work on Straight Arm Strength

One of the most basic forms of training on stall bars is to use both front and back support for straight arm strength. These exercises have you gripping onto one of the middle rungs of the Swedish ladder, keeping your hands at hip level, and maintaining rigid, straight arms.

Suspend your body, take your feet completely off the floor, and hold the position. With front support, you need to face the ladder; with back support, you need to do the same exercise but face away from the ladder.

Flag Support Hold

The flag support hold is the first step to a series of exercises that will build your arm and core strength enough to support your body at a horizontal angle. For this exercise, you need to grip the ladder at two different height levels; one hand must grip near the top of the ladder, and the other hand should hold near the middle.

With this grip, you can attempt to lift your body off the ground; ideally, your body should be perpendicular to the ladder. For these beginning exercises, just try to lift your feet a few inches off the ground.

Human Flag Jumps

Human flag jumps are the same concept as the flag support hold, but instead of gradually lifting yourself, you jump into position. Maintain the same hold on the ladder from the flag support hold; once you do that, try to jump so that your body is completely perpendicular to the ladder. Once you’re perpendicular, hold the position for as long as you can.

Have the Right Equipment for Your Workouts

When it comes to strength and conditioning, you’ll need to have the right equipment to get the most out of your exercising sessions. Invest in Swedish stall bars to give yourself the best workouts you can; it’s a simple invention that provides critical benefits to gymnasts. Know how to begin your training on stall bars and develop your physicality exponentially faster.
